Gary Vaynerchuk takes a jab at me and my Eagles

The jab

The man, the myth, the legend Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV fame recently took a jab at the Eagles and, by extension, myself in an interview conducted by Colin.

What will the JETS record be this year now that you’ve gone to the draft?

Gary: “16-0 with an easy win over the EAGLES;) honestly the 1st 2 games are brutal but a 10-6 is possible for sure!”

The counter-punch

Couldn’t I just let this offense slide? My Eagle’s pride prevents me from doing so.

So, I just wanted to take a little guess about what the final score of this year’s Eagles vs. Jets game will be.

Final Score: 10-0

Oh wait, I confused my guess with the Eagles all-time record versus the Jets. Let me repeat that, 10-0. For Gary, and all of the other forgetful, pitiable Jet fans, let me just run through a little Eagles vs. Jets history lesson.

Regular Season Series: Eagles Lead 7-0
Eagles Record At New York Jets: 3-0
Last Meeting: October 26, 2003 — Eagles, 24-17

The wager

If by a miracle bigger than the parting of the Red Sea, the Jets somehow get lucky enough to pull out a victory over the far superior Eagles, I will post a video that will make the embarrassment of my “To the Left” video be put to shame. Heck, I’ll even wear some Jet’s gear while I do it.

Final Thoughts

Regardless of Gary’s abominable slight, I am still a Vayniac and a proud one at that. For all those who have never checked out Gary’s vlog, even though my retinas are continually damaged by the sight of a bunch of disturbing Jet’s merch, it comes with my highest of recommendations.

N.O. Hornets beat the Eastern All-Stars

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Tonight while playing my favorite game, NBA 2K7 (the best b-ball sim series), and I thought it might be fun to go a little nutty. I told Load to try to beat me with any team his heart so desired. He chose the Eastern All-Stars.

With the latest updated rosters, the Hornets are by far the worst team in the game. They have a rating for 55 on all counts, which would be defense, offense, and overall. I mean you’d be lucky to beat the Grizzlies shooting lights out.

The Eastern All-tars have a rating of 100 in everything. Long story short, this means they are the best you can be. When you have the likes of Shaq, Lebron, and D-Wayde on the same team you are looking at a trouncing of the highest measure. Then if you get in foul trouble you have Paul Pierce, Gilbert Arenas, and Joe Johnson on the bench.

This sounds like a “slam dunk” if there ever was one. The first game we played I had the lead the entire game, with Chris Paul going nuts on 3’s. In the end, the Eastern All-Stars went on an insane, might I say a lucky run to win by a measly 2 points. Beyond respectable considering the competition.

Load wanted a rematch to be able to beat them even worse. This time I still had the lead the entire game again. Then all of a sudden they made another insane run where they couldn’t miss anything.

The game went into overtime. In overtime, the lowly Hornets took over. Chris Chandler was dunking on a fat, tired Shaq like he was a rag doll. In the end, I pulled out the game and Chandler was the player of the game.

So, that’s how the N.O. Hornets beat the Eastern All-Stars. It could never happen in real life, but hey, I’ll take what I can get.
