Chris Fehnel only laughs at his own jokes

Tonight while playing my favorite game, NBA 2K7 (the best b-ball sim series), and I thought it might be fun to go a little nutty. I told Load to try to beat me with any team his heart so desired. He chose the Eastern All-Stars.

With the latest updated rosters, the Hornets are by far the worst team in the game. They have a rating for 55 on all counts, which would be defense, offense, and overall. I mean you’d be lucky to beat the Grizzlies shooting lights out.

The Eastern All-tars have a rating of 100 in everything. Long story short, this means they are the best you can be. When you have the likes of Shaq, Lebron, and D-Wayde on the same team you are looking at a trouncing of the highest measure. Then if you get in foul trouble you have Paul Pierce, Gilbert Arenas, and Joe Johnson on the bench.

This sounds like a “slam dunk” if there ever was one. The first game we played I had the lead the entire game, with Chris Paul going nuts on 3’s. In the end, the Eastern All-Stars went on an insane, might I say a lucky run to win by a measly 2 points. Beyond respectable considering the competition.

Load wanted a rematch to be able to beat them even worse. This time I still had the lead the entire game again. Then all of a sudden they made another insane run where they couldn’t miss anything.

The game went into overtime. In overtime, the lowly Hornets took over. Chris Chandler was dunking on a fat, tired Shaq like he was a rag doll. In the end, I pulled out the game and Chandler was the player of the game.

So, that’s how the N.O. Hornets beat the Eastern All-Stars. It could never happen in real life, but hey, I’ll take what I can get.

It’s now official.

Yes, I’m pretty aggravated. I’ve been jonesing for Leopard since they announced it and they said spring. Then it was rumored that it would be pushed back, they denied it, in the process getting my hopes up for June.

Now all is dashed as they confirm that it wasn’t going to be ready until October. Not cool, Apple. Not cool.

I haven’t been able to post a song of the week, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been listening to some new jams.

Definitely diggin’ on the new Bright Eye’s album. Definitely Connor’s most straightforward song-writing and by far his most structured album. Lyrically he is still on the top of his game, while not as woe as me.

Also, finally coming around on the new Anberlin album. Took me a long time to even put it in my rotation since at first listen it just seemed bland and I wasn’t really in that mood. But now after a couple spins, I’m really starting to enjoy it.

As you can see, the Diet has pretty much been non-existent for me for the last “couple” weeks.

I’ve started back up at the gym again and want to get in shape in time for the summer. That means I’ll have to go at it hardcore. I’ve done it before, maybe I’ll do it again.

Thanks to James Mathias, I can sorta say that I am an artist. Well, not really at all, but hey, I can dream. To be fair, I merely and mildly “inspired” one of his fine daily drawings.

It was quite an honor to be an “inspiration” for Mr. Mathias. However, I am hardly an inspiration. If you would like to read of for realz inspiration read Mr. Mathias’ tale of losing a third of himself. Now that’s what I call inspiring, and I wish him continued progress and success.
